What I Learned My Junior Year
What I Learned My Junior Year By: Cristen Mahoney From the day I entered high school it was constantly drilled into my head that junior year will be the hardest year of high school ever and that I better be prepared for all of the stress that I will endure. During my freshman and sophomore years I did very well academically and I truly believed that it wouldn’t get harder than this, but the phrase still continued: “Just wait until junior year.” Now that I’m into my senior year, I’ve realized that yes, junior year is easily one of the hardest most stressful years I have ever gone through, but it was also the year I learned the most about myself. First, I’ve learned to never take as it says more about them than it does about you. I’ve also learned that an assignment for school is never worth crying over because it probably won’t matter in five years. The majority of what you do at this very moment will most likely not dictate where you go in life in the next five years as you will change and grow as a human being. Lastly I’ve learned to never give up. Had I given up, my GPA would be lacking and I wouldn’t be the happiest version of myself. Although junior year has probably been the most difficult year thus far, it has without a doubt made me a much stronger person because of it.
