Taylor Swift. A country-turned pop artist making her debut back in 2006. Considering she’s been an artist for so long, it only makes sense that her discography would be incredible in length. Taylor Swift happens to have over 200 songs, roughly about 224. As one of the biggest pop artists currently in the industry (and being a big fan myself), I have decided to listen to (almost) all of Taylor Swift’s discography on Spotify for the first time. Here’s how my experience went.
Debut Album : Taylor Swift (2006)
This album is a classic. So many of the songs on here remind me of my childhood. For example, Teardrops on My Guitar, Picture to Burn, and Should’ve Said No are very nostalgic. I’ve listened to them many times and they always sound good to me. As far as the rest of the songs go, I’m a big fan. Even though they’re from Taylor’s country era, you can’t hate the classics.
Fearless/ Fearless Platinum Edition (2008)
One of my favorite Taylor Swift songs is on this album and it’s called You Belong With Me. Another song on this album that’s really popular is Love Story. In my opinion though, other than those two songs this album isn’t my favorite.
Speak Now/ Speak Now Deluxe (2010)
I really enjoy this album. There are so many amazing songs on it that you simply can’t skip. I used to, and still do, listen to the songs on this album a lot. Especially the song titled Better Than Revenge. It’s one of my absolute favorites from Taylor.
Red/ Red Deluxe (2012)
This album has always stuck out to me, ever since I was little. This may sound very generic, but “Red” is definitely my favorite song on this album. It’s a song you can belt out and scream to, and I feel like everyone needs that sometimes.
1989/ 1989 Deluxe Edition (2014)
I have mixed feelings about this album. Most of the songs I love, but I can not stand Welcome To New York. The song just doesn’t pique my interest and sort of bothers me when I hear it. Again, the rest of the album is amazing.
Reputation (2017)
This album is perfect to me. It was such an amazing comeback after her last album. The vibe was pretty different from her other releases I feel like. The songs all seem very empowering and energizing.
Lover (2019)
This album is so cute and has such sweet songs on it. For a period of time after it came out I couldn’t stop listening to it. Not to mention the gorgeous vinyls that came with the release. The pink and blue theme was so cute.
Folklore/ Folklore Deluxe Version (2020)
I don’t listen to much Taylor anymore, at least not as much as I used to, but this album is still on my playlist. I can’t express how much I love this album. When it came out I was so excited to listen to it and I still am to this day.
Evermore/ Evermore Deluxe Version (2020)
Again like I said for Folklore, this album is some of Taylor’s music that I actually still listen to pretty often. All the songs are so different but they fit so well together on the album at the same time. I love the classic Taylor songs, but these newer releases are just too good.
Midnights/ Midnights (3am Edition) (2022)
This album is such a great listen. Taylor really went all out for the songs on this album and the design of the physical album. The other artists featured on it added so much to the songs as well. It feels like an album that you could literally listen to at midnight when you can’t sleep.
That is all for the Taylor Swift albums that I will be discussing! I didn’t give my opinion on the “Taylor’s Version” albums or any live recording albums, so I just tried to cover the basics. Overall, Taylor Swift’s music will always have a special place in my heart.
