Ryan has had a very successful year so far and has recently placed 2nd for the 2 mile at the New England Championship.
We asked Ryan his thoughts on the past two seasons and what he has been able to acheive, he said:
¨This season so far has been going well although I suffered a mid-season injury that put me out for a couple of weeks¨. Even with an injurie Ryan was still able to ¨win the Hock League meet 2 mile and come in second place at the D3 state meet¨. He also placed 6th at the all-states meet in the 2 mile and 2nd at the New England championship.
Ryan was asked about his goals and his goals for the future, to which he replied:
¨Being a captain this season I really made it a goal of mine to be a person other runners look up too and are inspired by¨. Ryan also says¨personally, a goal of mine has been to go under 9:10 in the 2 mile which I am hoping to do this weekend at Nationals¨.
With Ryan´s extensive success in running we asked him about his backstory and what got him into running:
Ryan states ¨I have been running since middle school and really started to focus on it during my freshman year of high school¨. He says ¨I always thought I would be a great runner as both my parents were also runners and since then things have worked out pretty well¨. Lastly Ryan said that overall ¨I have come to find that if you put the work into this sport can be very rewarding¨.
We asked Ryan what inspires him to run or if he has any role-models, he said:
¨I would say my parents are a big inspiration to me, I always want to make them proud and since they were both accomplished runners, I want to be able to follow in their footsteps¨. Ryan also says that his teammates push him to do well says¨ I believe I sometimes take for granted how lucky I am to have other great runners around me pushing me to be my best day in and day out¨.
This Friday Ryan has a big 2-mile Medley Relay for Nationals in Boston. Good luck Ryan!
