After having a great season Brian Wang was the only one on the OA Swim and dive team that made sectionals this year.
We asked Brian how he feels the season is going so far, to which he replied:
¨The season is going very well; many senior boys joined this year, allowing the boy’s team to be much larger.¨ Brian says that ¨These new swimmers have grown a lot and contributed to the meets in various ways¨.
because of Brian´s big achievement we asked him about his goals this season, and if hes achieved any:
He replied ¨My personal goals this season have been to make the cut times for sectional championships¨. Brian proudly states ¨I have achieved this goal, qualifying in the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard individual medley¨.
We also asked Brian what got him into swimming and when did you start, he said:
¨I started swimming at a young age (probably 8 years old) because of my parents but only got into competitive swimming during my freshman year.¨ He says that ¨After swimming on a club team (Hay Lightning) for two seasons, I joined the OA swim team¨.
Lastly we asked Brian what or who inspires him and helped him make sectionals:
Brian replied with ¨It may sound cheezy but my team definitely inspires me. I feel that I have a commitment to myself and to my teammates to do my best at practices and at meets.¨
