As we all know, midyears are slowly creeping up on us. Everyone is tense and stressed out due to the workload from the upcoming assessments. As important as midyears are, we should all still be taking care of ourselves. Here are some ideas and tips to help relax your mind during these stressful times.
- Take a break – Breaks are important to keep the brain engaged and give you time to process all the information you may or may not be cramming. So drink some water, get a snack, even scroll through your phone for a bit. Afterwards, you will probably feel more confident to tackle your studies.
- Listen to music – Music is an escape for a lot of people, try to use it to your advantage while studying. Even if it’s just some lo-fi music playing in the background of your study session, it may subconsciously help you relax.
- Don’t push yourself too hard – You should definitely push yourself to try your best for midyears, but pushing yourself too hard isn’t beneficial. If you stay up way too late studying and not caring for yourself, your body and brain are going to be exhausted and it will make it harder to retain the information you want to study.
These are just a few ideas to help calm your nerves in preparation for midyears. Do things that you know help you relax, and make sure to take care of yourself!
