Matt Lawson has had an amazing season so far, with many goals he has been a key player on the Oliver Ames boys hockey team.
When Matt Lawson was asked what got him into hockey and what sparked his passion, he replied:
¨I started hockey, (learn to skate), when I was 6 years old and it has definitely been a big part of my life since then.¨ Lawson says ¨The thing that got me into hockey and continues to fuel my love for the game today, is the important values I have learned and the lifelong friendships I have created.¨
Matt has been on fire this year, but when asked about his thoughts on the season so far he says:
¨I am very proud of how our team has opened the season so far. We have struggled in past years so it is nice to see all of our hard work paying off.¨ But Lawson also states ¨There is still a lot to improve on but I believe in us moving forward. ¨
We asked Matt if he had any personal goals this year, and he replied with:
¨Personally, one of my goals this year was to take a more active leadership role on the team now being an upperclassman.¨ Matt believes ¨I have definitely started to grow into that position in the first few games of the season, but it is something that I need to keep working on.¨
When Matt was asked who inspires him, he said:
¨My family and my coaches inspire me to work my hardest and always teaches me to enjoy the moment instead of getting caught up in little issues.¨ Matt Also says ¨Making the best of my high school experience and having a good time with my friends is what inspires me to commit myself to hockey.¨
