As most of America is aware, last week was the two year election voting. Every state got to vote for new, or returning, governors for their state, as well as other government officials. Some states experienced some really good news surrounding the democratic party. With that being said, we live in Massachusetts, which is a predominantly democratic state, so I want to touch on some highlights of the recent election. M.A. has a new governor and her name is Maura Healey. Also, the majority of counties in Massachusetts are “blue”.
Very recently, three students at the University of Virginia were shot and killed. These three students were honorary members of the school’s football team. The suspect for the murders was actually said to be a former member of the football team, dating back to 2018. He has been taken into custody. This all occurred around 10:30 pm on Sunday night, November 13th, according to nbcnews.com. The victims were named Perry, Chandler, and Davis Jr.
Shockingly, Amazon announced that they are going to be laying off around 10,000 employees, according to CNBC. This employee cut is said to be the largest in Amazon’s history and is made to impact many other factors. After Jeff Besos has seemingly retired, according to some, Amazon seems to be going in a different direction. Who knows, maybe it will actually be a good thing!
