Fall Sports Playoff Preview

Volleyball

The girls volleyball team had a great season with a 16-4 record, making them Davenport champions. This puts them in 5th place, with a bye, and in a good spot for playoffs. Captain Maddie Homer says ¨We started off playing some difficult teams and faced some losses but I feel like that just prepared us for the season to come. The team has worked hard and are prepared for their first game this Friday at 5 pm against the 28th seed, Mansfield. Maddie believes that ¨Our team is strategic, selfless, and knows what to do in order to win, which is why I have a lot of confidence going into the tournament. ¨ 

Field Hockey

With a very good season, the field hockey team was able to end with a 10-6-2 record, putting them in 14th place. Captain Abby Welz says ¨We have been able to grow in becoming a united team that always tries to stay positive and persevere. ¨The girls first game will be 4pm this Sunday, at home, vs the 19th seed Plymouth North. Abby also says  ¨Going into playoffs, I feel very confident knowing that we have the intensity and chemistry to dominate on the field.¨

Football 

The football team played very well this season, even with a 3-5 record there were still some very close games. Captain Chad Silva says ¨I am happy that we achieved our goal of making the playoffs ¨The team is ranked in 15th place and are scheduled to play the 2nd seed team North Attleboro. The game is this Friday, away, at 6:30 pm. Silva also says ¨I can see in everybody’s faces that they want to make a deep run into the playoffs that this school will remember, all we gotta do is work hard in practice and get prepared for friday.¨

Girls Soccer 

The girls Soccer team had an amazing season, coming out as hockomock champions. Captain Marry Cross says ¨Our season went really well, we had a lot of people fill in big shoes that the class of 22 left and everyone had a great season¨ The Girls ended with a record of 12-3-1 giving them a bye for the first round. Their first game will be at home, this Sunday at 1:30 pm. Going into playoffs Marry says ¨We are seeded first so that definitely gives us a level of comfort.¨ but she also says ¨I think we are all nervous though because there is no second chance.¨

Boys Soccer

With an outstanding season, the boys ended with a record of 15-1-2, making them 1st in the Hockomock. Captain Hector Bucio says ¨I felt our season went really well. We had high expectations for this year and goals as well.¨ The team got a bye for the first round, so their first game will be at home, this Sunday at 6:30. Hector also says ¨The team has worked hard up to this point and are looking forward to making a statement when we play our first game in the tournament.¨
