Last week some intense news was released to the public. Let’s recap.
In February of 2018, a man named Nikolas Cruz had killed 17 people in a school shooting at Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Just last week though, his trial came to a conclusion and the jury had their verdict. The verdict was life in prison for Cruz. Upon hearing this, some of the victims’ families were very upset and outraged. They felt that Cruz deserved the death penalty for what he had done to those innocent people back in 2018, not just life in prison. People, family members, and loved ones are incredibly angry with the jury.
Another recent story, former NFL player Myron Rolle has left his career as a professional football player to pursue his dream of being a neurosurgeon. According to USA Today, he now plans to “focus on his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital that ends in two years before proceeding to a one-year fellowship for pediatric neurosurgery.” Rolle claims that he really just wants to spend his time now with his family. Rolle seems happy following his dreams and being with his wife and children.
