Q: What is your role here at Oliver Ames?
A:I am a math teacher. I am teaching Algebra 1 and Algebra 2
Q: Who got you to where you are today?
A: My path to being here was a long road with some twists and turns. I have wanted to be a teacher since high school. I loved art, and still do, in highschool and I idolized my ceramics teacher. So much so that I decided that I wanted to be an art teacher. I went to Alfred University to get my BFA in fine arts with a minor in education. My after college plans did not work out and I moved back home. I decided then to spend 2 more years studying photography in Boston. That led me to a job working for Hasbro in Rhode Island. Sadly my position was cut and I had to find a new job. I ended up with an office job for 5 years. During that time I met and married my now wife. One night we were having a conversation. I knew my office job was not where I wanted to be. My wife asked me if I could be anything, what would it be? I said to the math teacher without even thinking. That started me back on the road to education. I worked at Southeastern Regional in Easton for 10 years. Last year I was presented with an opportunity to teach at OA and I have not looked back.
Q: What is your favorite fun fact about yourself?
A: I am a math teacher with a degree in fine art.
Q: If you could be any animal, what animal would you be and why?
A: T-Rex.
Q: Do you have any thoughts on the school in general that you would like to add?
A: Everyone here has been so nice in helping me transition to OA. Special shoutout to the math department for being amazing.
