Q: What are your thoughts on the rules this year?
A: I like the rules this year. I am new so I don’t really know what the rules were last year, but I like the structure of the school. The cell phone policy seems very helpful. Students have been working really hard in my classes consistently and I think a big part of that is the school’s new cell phone policy. I like Ticky Tok, Snapface, and Twittering as much as the next person. But cell phones might just be the biggest distraction in the history of the world for teenagers so taking them out of play might be fairly unpopular, but I believe it is likely to improve academic performance.
Q: What is your role here at Oliver Ames?
A: I am a Special Education Teacher here at OA. I teach one English class and four Academic Support classes.
Q: What is your role here at Oliver Ames?
A: I would say my family, teachers, and coaches got me to where I am today. I was obsessed with sports in high school playing soccer, basketball, and baseball. And I played baseball in college. So coaches had a huge impact on me along with the lessons around hard work, consistency, and improving over time that have stuck with me throughout my life. And all of my coaches were also my teachers… And my parents have always been there providing a guiding hand through it all. I really appreciate them.
Q: What is your favorite fun fact about yourself?
A: My favorite fun fact is that I do yoga consistently. It is an important part of my life, but if you saw me standing in the hall greeting my students, you probably wouldn’t guess that about me. Namaste.
Q: If you could be any animal what animal would you be and why?
A: I would be some sort of giant bird, like a golden eagle so I could soar above the world and see everything that is going on all at once. I bet that is pretty fun.
Q: Do you have any thoughts on the school in general that you would like to add?
A: For thoughts on the school, my wife and I bought a home here in Easton because of the reputation of the excellent school system here. We have three young children who will be going through the schools. The staff and students have been super welcoming and generally awesome. Go Tigers!
