A tradition for the Seniors at Oliver Ames is the Boat Cruise. It gives students the opportunity to hang out with their friends while enjoying food and the view from the boat. The cruise is two hours long and it will take place around Boston Harbor. It should be a nice day, so buy a ticket if you can.
¨The boat cruise is scheduled for Wednesday, June 1st. We will leave OA at 9:30 AM, board the boat at 11:00, sail from 12:00 – 2:00 and then return to OA,¨ said Mrs. Sweeney. She emphasizes ¨you must ride the bus from OA to attend¨.
Many students were worried about the price for the event because of the pricey prom tickets, but thankfully, the tickets are only $10! They will be sold during lunches tomorrow and Tuesday as well as after school on Tuesday. Make sure that you have both of your permission slips because if you do not, you will not be able to buy a ticket. There are two different slips, one for students over 18 and one for students under 18. They can be located on the Class of 2022 Google Classroom page or if you cannot find them, ask your advisor for a copy.
Students are very excited that they are able to go on the boat cruise this year because things were still up in the air due to the pandemic.
¨I am not sure what to expect, but I am curious to see what the cruise will be like,¨ said senior Sarah Cathie. ¨I love being on the water and maybe I will even get some sun.¨
¨I am looking forward to spending the day with my friends, and I hope that the weather is nice. I am excited to spend the afternoon in Boston as well,¨ said senior Emily Meyers.
¨I love dressing up, and we get to for the boat cruise, so I will be using that to my advantage. It is a small preview to prom in a sense,¨ said senior Kyla Melton.
Hopefully the weather is nice, but even if it is not, we will still make the best of the afternoon. If you have not gotten a ticket yet, there is still time! You do not want to miss out.
