There were a lot of questions still unanswered about prom, but the senior class advisors were able to clear everything up at the assembly.
- Prom is June 2nd at Indian Pond in Kingston, Massachusetts from 6:30-10:30
- Tickets are $80, so the $250 ticket rumor was false
- Students can buy prom tickets April 29th (Friday) after school, before school on May 2nd (Monday) and both before and after school on May 3rd (Tuesday)
- There is limited space because of Covid, so the first tickets will be sold to seniors, then underclassmen, then outside guests if possible
- If you want to bring people from outside of Easton, you must note that when buying your tickets
- You cannot buy a ticket without filling out the form that will be sent out
- Seniors must attend graduation rehearsal the morning of prom if they wish to go to prom
Many students have had various complaints about many different details of prom. Some are upset about the day it is on, some about the location, some about the guest’s, etc. We reached out to Ms. Shea to get her feedback on these complaints. Senior prom is typically on a Friday evening, but this year it will be held on a Thursday. Ms. Shea says this is because the new venue only had that available.
Speaking of the venue, many are also upset that the prom will not be held in the State Room in Boston this year. This is due to the Covid-19 Vaccine mandates that Boston had in place when the school went to book the venue. So, because not every student attending will be vaccinated, the school had to move the location to somewhere that would be more accommodating to all students.
The other complaint was about the guest situation. Shawn Galligan thinks “it’s a little weird that they’re going a lottery for outside guests”. Wyatt Fritchman said that it was “annoying that [he] didn’t know for the longest time if [he] could bring” his date who is not a senior. However, Mr. Schussler believes that most, if not all, outside guests will be able to make it.
