Q&A with OA senior Emma O’Hara
Q) How are you feeling today?
A) I am definitely feeling stressed with school and college stuff, and it does not help that I was absent on both Thursday and Friday. I know this stress will pass, but right now, it feels everlasting, especially with college applications.
Q) What is your favorite class you are taking this year?
A) My favorite class has to be philosophy because the class has a unique structure that allows conversation to be the primary way of learning the material. I love how engaging the teacher is, and the lessons are interesting, which is an aspect that keeps me focused and involved.
Q) What is something you are looking forward to?
A) I have heard some chatter about homecoming and prom so I am definitely looking forward to those senior events. I love seeing the senior class together because it reminds me of how much we have all grown together over the past four years.
Q) What is your favorite song and why?
A) Honestly, I love “Better Than Revenge” by Taylor Swift because you cannot go wrong with any song by her. Whenever I am in a bad mood, I listen to this song, and I automatically feel better. I love how songs can change your mood in an instant.
Q) How do you deal with your feelings?
A) I am not the best at coping with my emotions because I tend to bottle them up, and I get stressed very easily. I try to put my energy towards school and sports, which helps me whenever I am frustrated with something that I do not want to deal with. For example, when I am overwhelmed with school, I swim to take my mind off of my negative thoughts.
