OA Students Responding To The New Lunch Method

As the school returns to a full day schedule mass modifications have been made to the way lunch works. Whether a student has been assigned to the cafeteria or the gyms most students have similar thoughts regarding how they feel about lunch.

Nixon gym prepped for students to eat there at lunch

Lia Gomes, Class of 2021

“In the gym it’s pretty well organized but it feels really awkward. When you try to talk to your friends you can’t even hear them because they’re so far away and there are so many people in the room.”

Chidera Akanegbu, Class of 2021

“In the cafeteria it’s organized but the lunch feels short and is definitely rushed because we have to wipe desks and stuff”.

Ben Cohen, Class of 2021

“It so unorganized and everyone touching the same rag to clean is gross”

Zoe George, Class of 2021

“It feels like prison”

Peter McGuinness, Class of 2021

“Too short since we take up so much time to clean up and it’s only 20 minutes regardless”

Tierney Milliken, Class of 2022

“It’s terrible and too short. I’ve been able to eat a granola bar and that’s all I have time for”

Mollie Crabtree, Class of 2021

“I feel like I’m in a classroom and then I get stressed about eating.”
