The applications for the new OA principal have finally closed as of February 1st. There are a few next steps to take though, before we find out who will be principal after Mr. Paul. Assistant Superintendent Crissy Pruitt shared some more information about when we will find out who got the position.
OA received 32 applications for the position, which was more than they expected. Like any other job, the principal search committee will have to sort through all of the applications until they have narrowed down who they want to interview for the job. Over the course of the next two months, two rounds of interviews will take place so they can determine who is the best fit for the position. There may also be a visit to the candidate’s own school, though it may be virtual, to get a better sense of how they fit in with the school environment. And after all of that, there is one final interview with the Superintendent Lisha Cabral.
So when will OA students and teachers find out who’s selected? At the very latest, the search committee is hoping to have a decision by April 9th. No matter which one of the 32 applicants they end up choosing, it is sure to be a long process.
