Marilyn Manson, sometimes referred to as his given name Brian Warner, has recently been under fire on social media following some very serious abuse allegations. Warner is an Alternative Metal singer and songwriter, he got famous for his song “The Beautiful People” and has had a steady fan base ever since. The allegations first surfaced with Manson’s ex-girlfriend, and actress, Evan Rachel Wood. Please note that these allegations have not been officially verified.
Wood claims that “he started grooming her (me) when she (I) was a teenager and horrifically abused her (me) for years. She (I) was brainwashed and manipulated into submission”. She decided to come forward because she wanted to speak on the behalf of silenced women everywhere saying, “I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail”.
Following Evan Rachel Woods’ allegations countless of Warner’s past flames have come forward with detailed accounts of their alleged abuse. Brian’s ex bandmate Wes Borland spoke on a podcast and claimed that everything Wood said about Warner was true. Since the allegations Brian has been dropped by his record label and many artists including Trent Reznor have denounced Warner and voiced their support for his victims.
Ashley Lindsey Morgan claims that Manson would “lock her out of the house unclothed” as a punishment for bad behavior. Sarah McNeilly and Ashley Walters both said that he would lock them in the house or even keep them captive in certain rooms. There were even accusations of him killing the pets of these women.
Brian Warner has yet to comment on these allegations but yesterday on February 4th LAPD conducted a wellness check at the singer’s LA home after a call from a concerned friend. There was no response from Warner but a third party reached out to tell police that he was fine and simply did not want to come out.
Each of these women have come forward saying they have sustained serious cases of PTSD from their relationship with Brian Warner. Many people do not believe these allegations or blame the women for their silence, to this Wood says, “Don’t ask why victims wait so long to speak up, ask what systems were in place to keep them quiet”. Time is up for Marilyn Manson.
