It is no secret that in the fashion world trends are hardly ever new and almost always recycled. However, many people are okay with letting certain trends die one of those include low rise jeans.
Low rise jeans became very popular in the late 90s when designer Alexander McQueen showed his “bumster” jeans in a 1996 show “Taxi Driver”. After then the style took over the fashion industry in the late 90s and early 2000.
Eventually though as every fad does it hence the name this one faded and people began to favor mid-rise and high-rise jeans. The majority of people were very glad about this swap but it did not last very long…
When Gucci showed their fall runway collection many were shocked to see low-rise jeans among the designs which will ultimately result in other brands and department stores following suit.
At the beginning of the styles resurrection many people were strongly against it coming back although it seems now that people are slowly warming up to the idea. And while it may come back full force there will obviously always be those who favor the high rise mom jean to anything else. Theres no doubt that high rise jeans will still be seen in the fashion world but maybe the industry is growing for room for both.
