During the transition of reopening restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic, local restaurants have been facing the repercussions.
Two restaurants near and dear to the Easton community have experienced positive COVID cases and have been forced to temporarily shut down. The restaurants? TownSpa Pizza and Maguire’s Bar and Grill.
On December 7th, TownSpa reopened their indoor dining for the first time since the pandemic began but by the 9th they received word of a positive COVID test. The business was very transparent with this information on their Facebook page discussing that they contacted all employees and customers.
After receiving their second positive test they made sure to deep clean their entire restaurant and employees who came in contact were to get tested. As of now, they intend to reopen on December 14th for takeout only to ensure employee and customer safety.
As for Maguire’s, one of their staff members was tested positive on the Friday night of December 11th, according to Maguire’s facebook page this employee did not come into contact with many people but the restaurant is still being completely cleaned and disinfected.
With complete transparency Maguire’s tested their whole staff and discusses reopening on Friday the 18th as approved by the Board of Health.
