Basketball, hockey, ski and swim ready to go

December 2, 2020 By The Daily Olivian

This OA sports season has been heavily impacted by new restrictions. A meeting with the Athletic Department and the MIAA ensured that the “basketball, hockey, ski, and swim team will be competing. Wrestling, indoor track, and cheer will be postponed to a later season,” said Athletic Director Bill Matthews.

OA girls basketball coach, Elaine Holbrook, voiced her plan on how the season will go. Tryouts are scheduled for December 14th at this time with their first game on January 4th. The effort to keep the season running “will require everyone involved to be vigilant with all of the sanitation protocols to allow for a safe and productive season.” Coaches and other affiliated staff will continue to “[establish] routines in our daily practices, travel, and games” to be sure that the season will continue as planned.
