As a collective student body, OA held DJ Henry Day a few weeks back during our advisory periods in order to learn about and pay tribute to DJ Henry, an OA alum who was shot and killed by a police officer in New York.
The day was planned by the Raising Multicultural Kids club, with help from OA’s peer leaders. In addition to the day, there are also bracelets being sold in the Atrium for the rest of this week which read “Remembering DJ Henry October 17, 2010”. They are selling for $3 each, and $5 for 2, and the funds are going to the DJ Henry Dream Fund.
The bracelets are a great way to spread awareness for DJ, so if you have the money to spare, I recommend buying one. Get one while you still can, sales end Friday!
