A Review of the Hit Netflix Series “Criminal Minds”
By Caroline Botelho
With everyone at home amidst the Covid-19 outbreak, many are left in sheer boredom or are forced to cohabitate with their siblings more so than normal (I feel you there). If anyone is looking for an escape, or perhaps for a new series on Netflix to binge, the hit show Criminal Minds is worth a shot. I began this series a few months back and am currently on the seventh season. For anyone who enjoys a good detective/crime series, Criminal Minds may just be the perfect show for you! The series follows FBI agents in the Behavioral Analysis Unit (also known as the BAU), who investigate a range of criminal acts and delve into the minds of those committing these acts (these criminals become known as the unsubs, or unknown subjects). The series always keeps you on your feet, as each episode takes you to a new area within the United States with a new criminal. Additionally, most of the characters from the first few seasons continue to portray their beloved characters to the end of the series. I have watched very few shows where this is the case, especially when a series extends for more than six seasons. The first twelve seasons of the show can be found on Netflix, while the last three can be purchased on other screening apps like Hulu or Amazon Prime. The show keeps up to date with current issues surrounding our country, as the series began in the early 2000’s and its last episode aired early in 2020. Again, if you are searching for a new show to fall in love with, Criminal Minds may be the one for you! Happy viewing :))
