From his very first hit in 2016 Diles to a record-breaking album YHLQMDLG (Yo Hago Lo Que Me Da La Gana), Bad Bunny has become a Latin icon. Bad Bunny and his team have created a phenomenal album consisting of many different styles.
Most people, including myself, thought that this album was going to be more songs like Amorfoda and Si Estuviéramos Juntos, but Bad Bunny took a different turn and gave us an album filled with a variety of songs like Si Yo Veo A Tu Mamá with a completely different sound. Si Yo Veo A Tu Mamá, much like other songs on this album like Safaera, has a 2000s inspiration behind the song. Si Yo Veo A Tu Mamá also has a sample of the song Get Your Freak On by Missy Eliott. This song is an entirely different style than any of Bad Bunny’s other songs, and his fans are living for it. YHLQMDLG has over 14 various features with all of our favorite reggaetoneros like Daddy Yankee, Sech, Anuel AA, and many more.
One of the main reasons why this album is breaking so many records is the way he and his team created songs with lyrics that will have you crying in the club with songs like Pero Ya No, but with songs like Yo Perreo Sola will have you dancing and vibing until you forgot about who or what you were crying about. The amount of contrast is this album is what also brings in so many people because the majority, if not all the album is about surpassing someone once loved and getting back up to be the best version of yourself; the person with confidence and power and everyone’s been there everyone likes to feel good, so he hit his target audience with a bang.
