Our winter sports season has come to an end after three losses in 2 different sports. Last night boy’s basketball fell to #2 seeded Westwood in a hard-fought game. It was a close game most of the night, but Westwood came out on top in the last quarter. Ryan Burkett led the team with 18 points, followed by Jay Spillane’s 16 points. The game ended 78-66.
Girl’s basketball fell to Walpole on Wednesday night. Walpole, the #10 seed, came out strong in the first, but the lady tigers tied it up at half 22-22. Walpole took the lead at the end of the third, pushing the score up to 40-28. The tiger’s final quarter was a big fight, sadly ending in a loss, 53-45. Caroline Pepper led the team sheet with 19 points, followed by Caroline Flynn with 11.
Girl’s hockey fell to Boston Latin on Wednesday as well. It was a game full of unanswered goals. With the MOA Warriors down 3-1 going into the third, they scored three on top of Boston Latin, making it 4-3. With three minutes left in the game, Boston Latin tied the game up, making it 4-4. With the momentum on Boston Latin’s side, they were able to end the game with a win, 5-4.
