As a new season comes along, new sports come along too. Along with these sports, are new student-athletes capable of claiming the title of OA Player of the Week. To start of the winter sports season for Oliver Ames, Max Anderson has been named the Oliver Ames athlete of the week.
Anderson is a senior at OA, who is currently in his second year of wrestling. Coming off of an impressive rookie year, Anderson looks to expand upon his skill before he graduates. On Sunday, the 15th of December, Max Anderson put on an impressive performance at the annual Devin Ness wrestling tournament. Anderson was able to make it to the championship match, where he won by pinning his opponent in the first round. After starting the season with a tournament championship, three first-round pins, and an outstanding 5-0 record, Max Anderson is the first winter OA Player of the Week.
“It feels great to be the first OA winter athlete of the week. I just want to keep the success of the team rolling and have all of us get better as the season progresses.”
