It’s the holiday season, and that can only mean one thing – movies. The Hallmark channel alone has released a shocking total of 33 new holiday movies in 2017. But what movies are the best of the best? I have narrowed it down to my top three best holiday films ever made.
3. A Christmas Story
This pick is probably the most controversial on the whole list, but I love a Christmas Story. Sure, it’s a little old, but that doesn’t diminish the fact that this is a terrific movie. For those who haven’t watched it, this movie centers around Ralphie leading up to Christmas Day. This movie is hilarious, so if you haven’t already, I would strongly suggest watching it.
2. Home Alone
Ever since I was a kid, Home Alone and its sequels have been some of my favorite movies (Did you know that there are 5 home alone movies and one in production for Disney+?). I rewatched Home Alone recently. It was a lot more violent than I remembered, but just as funny as ever, and it definitely deserves its position in the top three for holiday movies.
1. Elf
Elf, even though only released in 2003, has become a holiday classic. I have watched this movie probably 30+ times, but every time Will Ferrell manages to make me laugh. With dozens of quotable lines and plenty of laughs, was there really any other choice for the best holiday movie?
