The MOA Warriors is a tri-town girls hockey team. The towns that are part of MOA include Oliver Ames, Mansfield, and Foxborough. Oliver Ames has 5 girls who play for the team including Emma Pereira (Junior, Offense/Defense), Meghann Panarello (Senior, Offense), Jess Widdop (Sophomore, Goalie), Reese Pereira (Freshman, Offense), and Maya Manganaro (Freshman, Defense).
Last year, the team went 9-9-3 earning 21 points just making the playoffs. They came in 3rd place in the hockomock standings. The team took a tough loss losing in the first round to end the season. This year, MOA hopes to take the ice by storm. Although losing depth from the team, the new freshman are looking strong and fast, adding some people like Reese Pereira and Mya Waryas (Freshman, Foxborough). The team is led by a great group of captains including Emma Pereira, Liz Healy (Senior, Mansfield), and Melissa Shanteler (Junior, Mansfield).
The MOA Warriors practice 4 times a week, 3 on ice and 1 off. Their home rink is Roman Arena in Walpole. The MOA Warriors will take part of their yearly Jamboree Wednesday December 11th at Rodman Arena in Walpole. The time is to be determined. for their home opener, the girls will face off against King Phillip. It is home and will take place at Rodman Arena on Saturday December 14th at 2:50 p.m. We hope to see Oliver Ames support the team at upcoming games! Go MOA Warriors!
