It has been two months since our beloved alumni have started their adult life out of high school, many of them starting with college. We interviewed a few of them who shared their opinion on how they feel about the college and their decisions they made along with it.
Katie Mills: Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts
How has college been in comparison to high school? What’s easier/what’s harder?
- College has been a lot easier for me! I have a lot of free time so its easier to be involved in different activities and get your work done early.
How has the workload been relative to high school?
- The workload is a lot less in college for me. I’m only taking 5 classes and I don’t have that much homework so I have so much free time.
How do you find the social life to be?
- The social life is my favorite part of college. It’s hard to find a new group at first but once you meet new people it is the best time ever. You will always find something to do and there is never really that much alone time.
Are you a part of a cub/group/activity and if so, how is it different than high school?
- I joined relay for life club and in-house design, which is a graphic design club. They are both so much fun and they are pretty much the same as clubs in high school.
Are you happy with your decision & why?
- I am extremely happy with my decision and I couldn’t imagine myself at any other college!
Priya Merchia: Northeastern College in Boston, Massachusetts
How has college been in comparison to high school? What’s easier/what’s harder?
- College has been completely different, not just because I am adjusting to a new campus and new people, but because I am also adjusting to living in London.
How has the workload been relative to high school?
- The workload so far has not been as demanding as high school. Assignments are more spread out over a longer period of time. The deadlines for submitting assignments were much more frequent in high school
How do you find the social life to be?
- The social life is completely different. I was used to having a friend group in high school where as in college it’s more like finding a few people you really vibe with. From that, you can meet even more people and you hang out with many different groups.
