This week’s OA player of the week comes from the field hockey. Senior Kara Ostrander has one the title this week due to her spectacular performance as varsity goalie. With two games left in the season, the OA field hockey team currently has seven wins and seven losses. The goal for the rest of the season is to ensure the team ends with a winning record, and Kara plans to accomplish that goal.
Kara has been a great defender and captain. In the seven wins the tigers have, there have been three shutouts. Almost half the wins have been shutouts which is very impressive for the sport of field hockey.
The tigers have currently been on a hot streak, winning their last three games. When Kara was asked what their main focus is right now, she responded with “our goal right now is to keep our head in the game and stay focused so that we can make it to the tournament.” With the tournament on her mind, Kara plans to do her best to give up the least amount of goals to ensure a postseason for the OA field hockey team.
The next game is today at 3:45 at Muscato Stadium against Franklin.
