It’s the first day of senior year, you have to make sure you wake up nice and early so you have enough time for that first-day outfit.
Excitement is running through your veins, along with a little caffeine.
You find a nice parking spot since you came early enough. You see your friends pulling into spots next to yours and then the Instagram photoshoots begin.
All throughout the first day, you’re hearing about how fun senior year is, all the events throughout the year, and your excitement level is even higher.
Nothing could stop you this year. Countdown to May begins.
Now it’s mid-October…
You roll out of bed at 7, throw on whatever’s quickest, and rush out the door. You still stop for coffee, even though it’s already 7:30 and you know the Dunks line at this time is crazy. It’s 7:48 and you are on your way to school, the parking lot is full, so you are parked on the access road and start racing to your class. It’s 7:56 and you walk into your class as the bell rings. The teacher tells you to turn around and go to the office to get a pass. Tardy slip.
On your way back to class, you remember you forgot to fill out your Naviance questionnaire, and that you were supposed to meet with your teacher before school to talk about your college essay that should’ve been done already. You get to class and your teacher tells you to pull out last night’s homework. You blank. You didn’t do it. But that’s the least of your worries…
You start thinking about the SATs coming up, which is your last chance to get a high score because application deadlines are approaching even faster than you expected. You start panicking about all the deadlines coming up, so you get your parents to dismiss you early so you can avoid all your problems…
And it goes on, and on, and on…
Is the year over yet?
