After the first eight games of the season, the Oliver Ames boys varsity soccer team has yet to record a loss. They have outscored their opponents 22 goals for to 5 goals against, including five shutouts thanks to their spectacular defense. If the Tigers want to continue their undefeated season, they will have to beat another undefeated team, the Milford Scarlet Hawks. The contest will take place at 4pm at Milford High School on Friday the 4th.
Most of the offense’s success can be contributed to the 2018 Underclassmen of the Year, Colin Miliken. The Junior plays center midfield and his currently the leading scorer in the Hock. After today’s 2-1 win against Franklin, Colin surpassed Pedro Araujo, of Milford, as the league’s leading scorer with 14 points, thanks to his 6 goals and 8 assists. Colin is not one to put his own agenda above the team’s. He stated “team [comes] first before anything else”. Understanding that value has been a key motive in Colin’s success. He continues to do his job and try his hardest for the benefit of the team, and that is why he is this week’s OA Player of the Week.
