The Oliver Ames gymnasium is completely crowded. A volleyball game is occurring and it is game point. Attleboro serves it over and Sadie homer gets the point, and her 1000th dig.
Sadie was the first girl in the volleyball program to ever receive this achievement. Sadie plays leibro for the Oliver Ames girl volleyball team. She gets every down ball, and it just so happens she got her 1000th dig.
“I had no idea that it was even going to happen, I had felt so accomplished. I always perform best under pressure.”
Sadies love for the game is extremely strong. While this being her senior year, she doesn’t want to let it go quite yet.
“I wasn’t ready to give it up yet. I have so much fun, it’s become apart of who I am”.
Sadie will be attending Dean college in Franklin Massachusetts. She will be continuing her athletic career by playing both basketball and volleyball. Those two sports are sadies absolute passion.
“I’ve been playing basketball my whole life and I couldn’t imagine not playing next year.”
One of sadies biggest failures in life was when she quit basketball junior year. Stress had overtaken her causing her to quit.
“I wish i could go back i to time and fix all of it, Wasn’t my best decision. My past helps motivates me.”
Some of sadies biggest accomplishments are being able to play both basketball and volleyball in college. Getting 1000 digs her senior was also quite amazing
“My hard work had really payed off, and cleary is shows.”
Her biggest academic strength in school is chemistry. Sadie absolutely loves chemistry. She will be majoring in chemistry when she attends dean. Eve though she is playing two sports n college she is confident that she will be able to manage her time accordingly.
“Chemistry is my passion, I live and breathe chemistry. I know it’s going to be a challenge between sports and school but i believe i can overcome it. Playing sports will help me manage my time better.¨
Dean college was the best choice for sadie because it had everything that she was looking for. It’s only 30 minutes away from home, which she loves. It has everything she wants. It is also a small community which is really good for her.
“It felt like home the second I stepped onto campus, I fell in love with the place. I could see the next four years being really happy for me.”
Since going off to college is a big deal sadie wants to improve on her social skills. This is a very challenging task for her, but she has been working on it little by little.
“I want to be confident and and begin to start trusting others.”
Sadie compares herself to a dog (dependent animal). Relies on others and never likes to be alone.
“I feel more comfortable when i’m surrounded by other, I feel like i am not alone.”
Heading off to college makes you really think about who you are aspiring to be. You want to be heading down the right path.
“I aspire to be my mother when i am older. She knows what’s best even if I disagree. Everything she does is to benefit me. Always has my best interest at heart.”
After college sadie wants to move down south. She would like to have a husband and 4 children, and some dogs. Defintley wants 4 boys and 1 baby girl.
“The south feels like home to me. I would love to live in Georgia or the carolinas. Plus it is also really warm and I am sick of this New England weather.”
In Sadies free time she loves to be outside playing with her dog Bama.
¨We love to go on long walks all around borderland, its so relaxing.¨
Being at home watching netflix is one of the most relaxing things for Sadie to do.
¨When I have nothing going on I love to just kick back and watch tv.¨
Sadie has also mentioned about where she would like to go on vacation, if it could be anywhere in the world.
¨I would love to visit Europe in Barbados because they seem so beautiful to me. It is a really eye catching place.¨
I asked Sadie to picture her life in 10 years.
¨I think I will be working in a state crime lab and I will be living with my family in the south. That would be my dream for the next 10 years. If I could accomplish that I would be extremely happy with my life.¨
With only being a senior in high school Sadie Homer is already successful. Between knowing what she wants to do with her life and her sports accomplishments she is going to be successful in the future.
