On Friday, March 29th, 17 year old Billie Eilish released her first full length album, “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” following her debut EP “Don’t Smile At Me”. Eilish has a sound like no other, and her voice draws you in. The softness of her voice is accentuated in each song. The album is centered around “sleep paralysis, night terrors, nightmares, and lucid dreams” Eilish says. Each song has its own style and they all have something special about them. Before its release, Eilish released singles “wish you were gay”, “bury a friend”, “when the party’s over” and “you should see me in a crown” and this grew the anticipation that was coming for the full album. Listening to the album for the first time felt like something else. It is the perfect combination of 14 songs that are able to take listeners on a rollercoaster of emotions. With upbeat songs, like “my strange addiction” and songs with heavy emotion, like “listen before I go”, the album is all over the place. To bring it all together, the album ends with a song correctly titled “goodbye” that combined a snippet of each song. Her vocals, insane effects, and intriguing lyrics bring together that is known as “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”. If you haven’t had the chance to listen to Billie Eilish, take 43 minutes out of your day to listen to the album. It’s amazing.
