Now a senior here at OAHS, Gabby Vinocoor is getting ready to move onto bigger and better things as graduation is approaches. I spent a few minutes with her discussing future plans, listening to what she does in her free time, and her experience at OA. Take an inside look into my interview with her.
Do you do any sports? (In or out of school.)
“I have been dancing for 13 years at Dance Express [in] Easton. Out of the 13 years, I have been on the competition team for 7 of them.”
Did you get into any colleges? Did you make a decision on where you want to go?
[I got into] “Westfield State University and Curry College. I committed to Westfield State University. When I first toured the school I loved everything about it and could see myself going there. Everyone there is very nice, welcoming and friendly. I am not sure what I want to major in right now, but I know I want to work with kids.”
Do you participate in any clubs here at OAHS?
I am involved in the LEO club.
How is senior year going? Do you have a favorite class?
“Senior year has been really good so far. One of my favorite classes is Science Design because I get to work with a fifth grade class each week and help the students design a mousetrap car, as well as setting up for the Richardson-Olmsted science olympiad.”
How do you like to spend your free time? What are some of your interests?
“In my free time, I love hanging out with my friends and family, dancing, and watching Netflix, and traveling. I love listening to both pop and country music. I also love broadway shows, my favorites are “Dear Evan Hansen” and “School of Rock”. I love the Boston Red Sox and Patriots. My favorite t.v shows is “Friends” and “The Office”.”
What are a few words you would describe yourself with?
“Friendly, caring, reliable and honest.”
List some of your favorite memories here at OAHS. What advice would you give to the incoming freshmen?
“Some of my favorite memories at OA are prom, and hall day, and the class competitions at the thanksgiving break pep rally. Advice I would give to incoming freshman is that high school flies by, so get involved in clubs, sports, and take advantage of different opportunities OA has to offer.”
