With Valentines Day approaching, we decided we would go out and ask the students of OA what their opinions on high school relationships and dating are. Here’s what we heard!
“I will not put time and effort into something if I don’t think it will work in the longterm. I do not want to waste mine or anyone else’s time. I wouldn’t date to just pass time and have fun, it has to be more than that.” – Olivia Piazza
“I think you should date someone if you see a future with them, it shouldn’t be taken lightly.” – Frankie Ireland
“I think you should date someone if you’re happier with them than you are without them.” – Gabi McLaughlin
“That’s like a really invasive question.” – Peyton Krinsky
“Im all for it, I think its a learning experience and allows both people to grow and mature.” – Rory McLaughlin
“I think if you want something long term and serious you should date and if you want something casual and fun you should also date, as long as both people are on the same page.” – Meghan Kelly
“If there are more positive outcomes than negative outcomes then I think you should do it.” – Kate Mccormick
“I think dating leads to unnecessary problems and should happen when individuals are more mature later on” – Tim Olsen
“Love is something I believe that anyone can accomplish if given enough time to see all their options in life. The problem is, most people see the opporitunity for love when time has passed away and age has taken our minds and bodies.” -Jackson Stanley
“If it is beneficial and somehow betters both people involved I think dating is a valuable experience regardless of the outcome.” – Maggie Plante
“I think dating should only occur if it is right for both people at the time. Because in high school there is so much we are juggling it can be hard to find clarity emotionally.” – Heather Mileika
