Losing Jack Spillane was good and bad for the Tigers. He was a great player but at least other players on the team can finally touch the ball. This year’s squad is lead by captains Sean O’Brien (I know right?) and Ethan “The Dad” Eckstrom. However, this is not about that. This past calendar year, Oliver Ames has gained two kids from out of town to bring something to the basketball program and try to get another deep playoff run.
The first kid is fairly known throughout the school. You might know him as Bathroom. I know him as my third cousin. His name is Evan Craig and he is an absolute CABOOSE. This junior’s standing at 6’5” and weighing at 235, this man is an absolute UNIT. He also reportedly has a jump shot to go with his huge statuer. If this kid can bang in the post, buckets will be so easy to him. On the defensive side, you will look at this man, and you will not find a way around him. I am expecting big things from this kid this year for a nice huge playoff tilt.
Now, we got a kid in the backcourt, I personally saw this kid go to work at open gym before my shoulder just gave out. Amari Brown is a nasty SG/SF who is ready to give the Tigers a little more athleticism on the court. It is being speculated that both of these kids will give a great push off the bench. Amari has the ability to drive and shoot at will, and can also pick pockets with ease. This man can provide a fire off the bench that the Tiger’s desperately need.
So while I believe these kids will have the ability to help the Tigers win, the only thing stopping them is the dreaded Wisconsin play. Byron, I’m begging you, please end this play.
