On Monday, November 5th, State Representative Claire Cronin came to Oliver Ames to visit Mr. Gotsell’s Law and the Legal System class. The class is currently working on a semester-long project involving the establishment of foreign language education in early elementary school.
The class invited Representative Cronin to come talk to the class so she could help them achieve their goal of these foreign language education programs. Throughout the discussion, Cronin exclaimed the importance it is for children to learn a foreign language in school and starting at an earlier age would help even more. While not dealing with education as a State Representative, Cronin is very passionate about education and was willing to help.
With the help of Representative Cronin, the class was able to understand how to propose their idea and what steps would have to be taken. Cronin had great insights for the class and was very encouraging towards the class.
