When it comes to work and extra curriculars, Molly is a go-getter. Molly works at two local restaurants called Shino and the Union Villa both in Easton, MA and also has another job as a babysitter. And still another as ref at flag football. She is a person of many interests and hobbies, including Yoga, running, ice skating, snowboarding, swimming, color guarding, and cooking. It is apparent that lots of different things can capture Molly’s awareness, but the thing that interests her most in learning.
Molly is the eldest of four in her family. She grew up with her mom and dad, Caitlin and Jay Pike, her two sisters, Emily and Olivia, and finally her brother Griffin. Since Molly is the eldest, she feels as if she is “the trial run for many situations”. This doesn’t intimidate her because she is the type of person to thrive in the unknown and learn from her experiences. She has a good relationship with her family, but a times her family of 5 can be quite chaotic.
Being the first in many situations requires Molly to learn from her own hardships by herself. These circumstances helped Molly develop a very wise and persistent personality that allows her to cut through any task at hand with a clear mind.
Molly is a very open minded person and appreciates anything that can expand her knowledge. Anything that can teach her something is worth her time. She loves to learn, teach and spread knowledge. She believes that knowledge of any kind can make life more enjoyable. This is also the reason Molly likes to throw herself into situations that seem chaotic, so she can learn from the experience. “Chaotic situations usually turn out being resolved because I never have expectations on how the situation will turn out, I just go with it,” said Molly.
One of Molly’s favorite activities is color guarding. Color guard is the visual aspect of marching band, consisting of a multitude of flag maneuvers. Like any other situation, Molly had no idea what she was getting herself into when her friends told her to come watch a practice. She thought the flags looked amazing through the air, so she ended up joining the Oliver Ames Marching Band for color guarding and fell in love ever since.
Molly wants to plan a big road trip across the US, because she is extremely interesting into traveling. This all started from a trip she made to Canada with her friend in the past year. Molly felt “Happy to be somewhere else and seeing how things work in other regions of the world really opens my mind.” Traveling would be a good opportunity for her to experience different cultures and learn from the people she will meet along the way. Traveling also is an exciting experience to Molly since she hasn’t done much traveling before Canada.
Molly’s favorite quote “Live to the point of tears,” is from Albert Camus and it is prominent that she lives by this quote routinely. During every activity she is involved in or any hobby that has interested her, Molly makes sure to squeeze out every drop of knowledge from the situation. She finds beauty and joy expanding her mind to different situations.
