Khalid is making a name for himself as a young breakthrough artist. He released his new album Suncity last Friday with seven songs and few featured artists. Personally, I think the song “Suncity (feat. Empress of)” is the best on the album. Khalid sings in both Spanish and English, and Empress of sings in Spanish as she is a Latin American artist. The song has a light-hearted and zesty tune. There is a nice drum beat paired with a strumming guitar in the background. The Spanish lyrics in the song translates to “take me to the sunny city.” It is possible that the sunny city he is referring to is El Paso, Texas; considering he moved there in his junior year of high school. In conclusion, a relaxing and pleasant tune! Enjoy!
