OA Girls soccer have always had success, especially in recent years. However, with off and on field drama, there has been a lot of speculation if they were even going to be able to go deep in the playoffs. Well, you know me, blowing everything out of proportion, but I do not care, these girls are good. No. These girls are great. They have the best shot at winning a championship with strong senior leaders and young up and comers.
With 21 points and third in the Hock, this Oliver Ames squad has had their fair share of up and downs, but I feel like that makes them stronger as a unit. I am not here to talk about quitting or bad relationships within the team because frankly they do not have a bad relationship. The team loves each other and you could see that after their completely dominant win over Taunton. 6-0. Yes, that was a score in a soccer game. It was great for the girls and great for the fans who came out to support including yours truly. This team is prepared. They are also probably the most well rounded team as they do not even have a top point person in the league at the moment.
This team does not rely on just one player and I think that helps them. They have many great players instead of just one person that a team can focus on. Other teams will struggle against them. With players like Maggie Ault, Gabi Mclaughlin, and other major contributors, this team is destined to be a force when it finally comes playoff time.
A lot of people do not really know how intense girls soccer is. The girls really care about the sport and dang, each one of them might even be better than Niko Byron. I am 18 and if I was a betting man, I would put my money on OA Girls Soccer. Book it.
