I’m not a sports writer, but I’m sure most of you have been keeping up with the Patriots – how can we NOT? Personally, I have been obsessed with New England football for as long as I can remember, but lately I’ve been confused with every move the team makes. When I say ‘team’, I really mean Bill Belichick. In the matter of one year, he has traded some of my favorite players, and I’m lost when thinking about what the future holds for not only MY favorite team, but most of your favorite team as well…
Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was traded and (prior to the more recent news) he was improving San Francisco’s team.
Miami is undefeated, and so is Danny Amendola. Last season, Belichick left two great players to Philadelphia, and we all know what happened with that. I am a diehard Pats fan, and I want the best for the team, but will this season be a repeat of last season? Will we still have home-field advantage as usual? Are Brady and Gronk all that we have left?
Even though nobody will truly know what goes through Belichick’s head, I have learned from past years that the Patriots always end up with a good record.
So, should we continue to trust Belichick’s methods? Should we force ourselves to get over the players that are gone from our team forever? It’s only week three, but something seems missing.
To me, this DOES matter. We will still continue to celebrate every game day because this team has made us believe that miracles DO happen. Until our coach reveals all of his secrets and hidden agenda, we have to believe his judgment. After all, think about all of the super bowls we’ve made it to. I know it’s hard to remain optimistic, but the Pats always manage to pull off the impossible. All we can say is, on to Miami!
