The Oliver Ames Boy’s Lacrosse Team was awarded the Sportsmanship Award by the MIAA during the 2017 season. The award is given to the team “who [has] demonstrated a sincere commitment to the highest ideals and objectives of sportsmanship”* throughout all of Massachusetts. It was the first time the award has been given to any Oliver Ames sports team.
“I would say that it was the greatest accomplishment in OA Lacrosse history” says Coach Devlin. “It says a lot about the character of the kids on the team.”
For those interested in playing in the Spring 2018 Lacrosse season a preseason, mandatory, informational meeting for the boy’s team will be held on Monday, March 19th at 6:30 pm in the Nixon Gymnasium. The meeting will include talks about expectations from the coaches along with the boosters discussing fundraising.
Conditioning and Stick Skills will continue to take place Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 9:30pm in the gymnasium until the week of tryouts. Tryouts will be held Monday, March 19th through Wednesday the 21st. Bring all required lacrosse gear.
