Last Friday, OA traveled to King Philip where they lost 0-42. Oliver Ames struggled throughout the whole game to find their grip on offense, and their defense simply could not contain the unrelenting KP offense. Despite King Philip being a powerhouse, Oliver Ames has a lot to learn from that game. After being asked about the game, Junior Ethan Eckstrom explains, ” what happened against KP isn’t a true representation of the football program here at OA. I think we just accepted mentally that they were the better team going into that game and that was our biggest problem. This is something we need to work on for the future of this program and for our daily lives in general.”
This is the teams second tough loss in a row, after they fell to Attleboro 44-0 the week prior to last. The past two games, the boys have been blanked a combined 86-0. Falling to 2-4, OA is hungry for another win as they play Mansfield on Friday, October 20th. In fact, OA football needs this win Friday in order to make the Hockomock playoffs.
With so much on the line, OA is ready to play their hardest against the intimidating Mansfield Hornets, so that they don’t have to go home.
