The last few weeks of fall sports are coming up and are crucial for every team. As teams begin to fight for playoff spots, they need as much help as possible. Come support all OA teams for the rest of the season!
Girls Soccer: 10 Wins, 4 Losses. The girls went 1-1 last week, as they lost to Canton but then bounced back to beat Franklin. Maggie Ault had a huge PK save to seal the victory over Franklin. Although this week was sub-par for the ladies, they still have a great record and will continue to control the Hock this week when they play KP (Tuesday) and Attleboro (Thursday). With the way they are playing right now, they should be a threat in playoffs.
Boys Soccer: 10 Wins, 2 Ties, 1 Loss. The boys are still undefeated in the Hock, dishing out L’s to Canton and Franklin last week. They are number one in the league and look to keep their position this week, playing KP (Tuesday) and Attleboro (Thursday). With just 2 weeks left until playoffs, the team sees that they can go undefeated in the Hock and are more motivated than ever to finish the season off strong.
Football: 2 Wins, 4 Losses. Football took another tough loss on Friday to KP, 42-0. These last 2 games for OA have not been pretty to say the least, but the team can hopefully learn from their mistakes and improve on them. That will be put to the test on Friday against Mansfield, an away game.
Golf: 11 Wins, 0 Losses. 3 games last week, 3 more W’s, but by now that’s all we expect. This team is just getting started and is already number 1 in the Hock, and making it look easy in the process. As long as they don’t get too cocky, they will be able to take down Stoughton (Monday), Taunton (Tuesday), and Canton (Wednesday) before competing in the Hock league championship on Thursday. It will no doubt be a busy week for the boys but they can hopefully handle it as they have so far this season.
Field Hockey: 7 Wins, 2 Ties, 3 Losses. Field Hockey had a week that they would like to forget, losing both of their games to Foxboro and Canton. However, they still have a very impressive record and are going to try to add to that this week. They play Franklin (Monday), KP (Wednesday), and Attleboro (Friday). Come support them while they enter the homestretch of their season!
Volleyball: 6 Wins, 8 Losses. The Tigers went 1-1 last week, improving to 6 wins on the season. They started the week off strong, defeating Canton, but then lost to Franklin. This week they play 3 games and have the opportunity to have a winning record for the first time all season. They take on KP (Monday), Attleboro (Wednesday), and Brockton (Friday). This week is so crucial for the girls since they are in the middle of the pack in the standings.
Cross Country: Girls (3 Wins, 2 Losses) and Boys (2 Wins, 3 Losses). The OAXC regular season has ended, as both the boys and the girls teams are moving into Invitational Season. The teams competed at the 35th annual Brown University Northeast Cross Country Championship this Saturday in Warwick, Rhode Island. Their season will continue with the Twilight Invitational Meet next Saturday, and the Hockomock League Championships on the 28th.
