Fall is officially upon us and with the changing of the seasons a new season is brewing, and it’s the Boston Bruins season.
The Bruins season began last week at home against the reigning Western Conference Champion Nashville Predators. The Bruins, under the leadership of head coach Bruce Cassidy, are a promising young group determined to make a playoff run come April. They have reshaped their lineup and their personnel to improve the evident flaws in their 2016-17 team.
Rookies such as Charlie McAvoy, Jake DeBrusk, Sean Kuraly and Anders Bjork pertain incredible speed and skill and are an excellent fit with Bruce Cassidy’s playing style. The Bruins are a young, explosive, and offensive team and need to convert all opportunities to generate success. Cassidy looks to focus on capitalizing on more opportunities to win competitive games. The Bruins are hoping for a bounce back season for veteran goalie Tuukka Rask who was sub-par at best last year.
The front office and team management has recognized the subtle shift of style in the way hockey is played. The game is faster than ever and more skillful and is deferring away from a physical, choppy sport. The Bruins organization has adapted to this change and due to this they will hopefully achieve success in the coming years.
