Senior Regan Benton has had an outstanding season so far for the OA girls soccer team and has helped lead them to an impressive eight wins and three losses so far. She has been incredible as goalie this year so far with 4 shutouts and holding her opposition to a total of 13 goals throughout 11 games. She has helped lead the team to be tied for third place with Franklin, trailing only Mansfield and King Philip.
OA has faced plenty of adversity losing 11 seniors from last year but Regan says it has allowed the other younger players to have their chance. Part of Regan’s success this year has come from the help of her goalie coaches Scott Dolan and Pat Rose. They “never let [Regan] get away with anything less than greatness”.
The team this year has looked extremely close and their success can be credited to their team chemistry. When asked about the team chemistry Regan had this to say “we are really close which has given us a great foundation for success. We do it for each other, not just ourselves.” This season is looking up to be a season to remember for Regan. The team is looking to make it a season that everyone will be proud of.
