The OA golf team is off to an impressive start to say the least. With a record of 4-0, they are making the rest of the Hock look like amateurs. However, this is no different from what the team expected. As Mark Bissonette (Senior and one of the captains) put it “we are not surprised of our success so far.” The team can say that statement and actually mean it. Coming off a 16-0 season, the boys expect nothing less of themselves. Even with the insanely high standards, the team is still outdoing themselves. Although they have played fairly weak teams thus far, they are still winning by huge margins. For example, in one match this season they beat Taunton by 50 strokes! The golf team has one goal this year: a championship. They want nothing less than to claim themselves the winners of the South Sectional yet again.
It is hard to see why this target isn’t attainable. “Overall everyone on the team has stepped up and made an impact” says Mark. This includes Juniors Nolan Donze, Thomas Walsh, and Liam Barry, who is currently second in the Hock. Thomas played an enormous role in the last victory, with just 33 strokes. This depth helps support the captains of the team as they help to guide their squad to what looks like is going to be a great season. Come support your Tigers throughout the rest of the season!
