Oliver Ames field hockey has shown that practice pays off as they begin their season with an astounding record of 4 wins and one tie. Oliver Ames has been one of the biggest field hockey competitors in the Hockomock league for several years, and continues to be so this year. After finishing with 10 wins, 5 losses, and 3 ties last season, OA continues to be an intimidating competitor. After asked what makes this year’s team different from last year’s, Junior Kathryn Mccarthy explains, “Our team is more connected as a whole. There’s more of a sense of family and we bond more on and off the field.” The field hockey team believes they will do very well this season; as Kathryn explains, “We’re feeling very confident. With hard work and determination we’ll do really well.” Their field is also filled with sports hall line markings to help them with practice.
Coach Abigail Tepper hopes to lead the girls field hockey team to another win as they face off in King Philip on Tuesday, September 19.
