Girls soccer is officially back! The team has played two games already and has an impressive record of 2-0. Brockton was the first victim followed by Stoughton and they hope to make many more throughout the season. There is no doubt that the club will do great this season, even though several amazing seniors last year were lost. Lauren Wright, Kiana Lozzi, and Dana Lowney were just a few that will be deeply missed this season. This means that the rest of the girls will have to step it up to another level which they seem to be doing with hard work and dedication to the team and sport. Maeve Hogan and Sophia Cox will be depended on more than ever this year to hold the defense up but will be supported by Erin Holmberg and Abby Hodges at the middle. The main attackers this year will be seniors Abby Reardon and Anabella Walsh, so look for them to be scoring most of the team’s goals this season. With a completely new dynamic, it might be a hard adjustment, but the team looks well prepared so far, winning their two first games. Throughout the rest of the season the ladies will have many close matches, but the game against Mansfield will be especially intense, as the two towns tied for Hockomock champions last year. So come support the Tigers through their whole season and start by showing up this week! They take on Sharon away on Monday but are back home on Wednesday to vs. North Attleboro at 5:30. At the end of this week, Friday, they will face off against Franklin at 3:45 as an away game.
