The OA field hockey team is looking to have a breakout season this year, and certainly seem to have the passion and talent to do so. The team has lost some huge contributors like Kendall Clifford, Katie Davenport, and Dimitra Efermidis. However, as these great players leave, some of the ladies will have to adapt and become main leaders of the team, on and off the field. Sarah Tetrault and Sarah Stevens have become captains of the team and hope to drive the Tigers to success this upcoming season. Kayla Lozzi is also another big piece to the puzzle of a winning season, even though she is only a junior. Tetrault is trying to fill the void left at center defender and is doing a great job so far this year. Sarah Stevens and Kayla Lozzi look to support the team as the starting midfielders. Meaghan Rockey (junior) has also really stepped up and is going to take on another role as a midfielder. Another key addition to the club is Liz Nuss, who is back at forward position after her knee injury to join Hannah Stryke as the primary scorers on the team. Brynna Courneen along with several other freshmen have been given large roles as well, even though they are 2 or 3 years younger than most in on the squad. With an exciting team like this, you won’t want to miss their big games of the season. They will play Franklin, KP, and probably Mansfield and Canton, all great teams, like OA. With determination and togetherness, the team with the motto “no limits” is expecting a great season, and hopefully a very entertaining one as well.
